Overview
The Aircraft Inspector ensures the safety, serviceability, and airworthiness of aircraft, engines, components, and appliances.
The role involves thorough inspections during all maintenance phases, diagnosing defects, prescribing corrections, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards.
The Inspector also approves aircraft return to service and maintains detailed documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement safety, serviceability and airworthiness of aircraft, engine, component & appliances.
- Perform initial inspection of aircraft, engine, components, accessories & appliances to determine their state of preservation & detect any defect, malfunction, or damage.
- Perform in-process or final inspection of aircraft, engines and components undergoing maintenance to assure compliance with governing specifications and procedures and with accepted quality standards and practices and final visual check for completeness.
- List down discrepancy and condition or operational malfunctioning for corrections, adjustments or repairs and screens defects and prescribe immediate correction on any discrepancy discovered during in process or final inspection.
- Determine defects, unsatisfactory and unsafe conditions present in aircraft and diagnoses their causes to identify areas or systems where corrective actions are necessary.
- Provide reference limitation if needed for defects or damage found on the aircraft.
- Perform inspection coverage during component changes, tests and adjustments on airframe and powerplant systems consistent with the quality standards.
- Perform inspection coverage on compliance of minor repair, EO, SB, AD to satisfy manufacturer, customer and government regulatory specifications.
- Review and sign off work accomplishment on all maintenance documents and approve return to service of flyadeal aircraft.
- Report incidents and/ or accidents pertaining to flyadeal aircraft and equipment.
- Maintain Aircraft delivery documentation.
Requirements
- A&P GACA Approved license
- Aircraft type qualification with inspection program and processes.
- Diploma in aviation airframe and powerplant.
- Have at least 5 years of maintenance experience on different types of large aircraft with 10 or more passenger seats with an air operator or certificated repair station, 2 years of which must have been as maintenance inspector.
- Familiar with GACA regulations to communicate with authority when required.
- Engineering drawings/specs, engineering change notices or established operating procedures.
- Reports Writing and good judgement of inspection related items.
- Strong knowledge to handle the aircraft in heavy maintenance phase.
