Role purpose
Ensure the safe, timely, and efficient movement of patients, equipment, and essential healthcare items throughout the hospital.
Support clinical teams and contribute to high-quality patient care.
Patient and materials transport
- Respond promptly to patients’ requests for assistance, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Transport specimens from the Out-Patient Department to the laboratory in a timely manner.
- Send and receive CSSD materials according to scheduled timings for applicable departments.
- Deliver files, documents, and forms between departments and the Medical Records Department, including admission files to inpatient areas as instructed.
- Collect general and stationery items from stores for departments on allocated days.
Safety and infection control
- Comply with occupational safety, health, and infection-control policies, standards, and procedures.
- Be familiar with hospital emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses, and assist in preparing risk assessments and incident reports.
- Follow waste-management procedures and policies.
- Attend required safety and infection-control training, mock drills, and awareness sessions.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems at all times.
Qualifications and language
- Able to speak English.
- Arabic is desirable but not mandatory.
- High School Diploma.
