Associate Threat Analyst

Role overview

What you'll work on

• Monitor networks for security events and incidents to detect active threats, intrusions, and compromises.
• Respond to security alarms, analyze incidents, and escalate them according to process or management direction.
• Participate in incident management and response and manage vulnerability scanning.
• Manage Endpoint Protection and Email Protection services; provide tier-one SIEM engineering support.
• Provide operational support for XDR security requests and answer security-related inquiries.
• Track global threat changes and publish regular advisories on potential customer impact.
• Conduct threat hunting, attack-and-defend exercises, and malware or vulnerability research.
• Contribute to agile projects that advance SOC maturity and identify and mitigate customer security issues.

What you bring

• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience troubleshooting in a technical environment and customer service, phone, or remote support experience.
• Ability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts in 24/7 operations; quick learner.
• Proficiency with ticketing systems; working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
• Experience with basic networking principles and incident response and analysis of common attack vectors.
• Experience with common SOC tools such as SIEM, SOAR, log/packet analysis, EDR, email security, threat intelligence, vulnerability scanners, and sandbox environments.
• Knowledge of cloud computing; programming skills are preferred.
