The Data Analyst - MIS Reporting role is based in Mumbai and focuses on banking-domain analysis, reporting, forecasting, and stakeholder support.
The analyst turns complex data into decision-ready insights using advanced Excel and BI reporting.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage dashboards and reports using Tableau or other BI tools.
- Analyze data using advanced Excel, including pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data modeling.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and ensure consistency across reports.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, variance tracking, and trend analysis.
- Prepare executive summaries, insights, recommendations, and next actions.
- Validate large, multi-source datasets and troubleshoot inconsistencies.
- Gather stakeholder requirements and deliver reporting solutions across functions.
- Document metric definitions, dashboard logic, refresh cycles, and governance standards.
Required qualifications
- Banking-domain experience is mandatory, including experience in retail banking, cards, lending, wealth, digital banking, risk, or operations.
- Advanced Excel expertise is required, including Power Query or Power Pivot, pivots, lookups, indexing, and nested formulas.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau or equivalent BI tools is required.
- Candidates should be able to analyze data and communicate actionable insights.
- Experience with performance tracking and forecasting or budget tracking is required.
- Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple reports, stakeholders, and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences are required.
Additional skills
- SQL skills support data extraction and validation.
- Excel macros/VBA or Python automation experience is a plus.
