Data Engineering Assistant Manager in Avanade's Data & AI practice, delivering modern data platforms and helping clients advance analytics and AI.
Combines technical leadership, consulting, delivery ownership, client engagement, and team mentoring.
Key responsibilities
- Lead enterprise data engineering, analytics, and AI platform design and delivery with Azure, Fabric, and Databricks.
- Own solution design and translate business needs into scalable technical designs and implementation plans.
- Engage client stakeholders, lead technical decisions, workshops, architecture reviews, and solution presentations.
- Lead and coordinate delivery teams; drive data quality, governance, security, performance, and operational practices.
- Contribute to estimates, delivery plans, risk management, and project execution; mentor consultants and evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies.
Skills and experience
- At least 5 years delivering end-to-end enterprise data engineering and analytics solutions.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, and related Azure services.
- Advanced SQL and experience with Python, PySpark, Scala, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Lakehouse, data warehousing, Data Mesh, streaming, and cloud-native analytics architectures.
- Experience leading technical workstreams or teams; understanding of governance, security, reliability, performance, and operations.
- Client communication experience and support for analytics, machine learning, AI, or advanced reporting.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. The posting also specifies 12 years minimum or 6 years with an Associate's Degree.
- Azure, Fabric, and Data Engineering certifications are highly valued.
