Associate- Front-end Engineer(Retail)

Description & Requirements

• Implement designs in code using React and Next.js with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and ShadCN/UI, delivering pixel-accurate, responsive, cross-browser experiences
• Integrate front-end applications with Python/FastAPI back-ends and REST APIs, ensuring efficient and optimized data interactions
• Optimize web performance, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals across all web products being developed
• Write reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards; troubleshoot, debug, and resolve defects promptly
• Support deployment of tools to cloud environments (Azure / AWS) using Docker and CI/CD pipelines with Git/GitHub • Own the end-to-end design process in Figma: research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and design QA
• Design intuitive, accessible user experiences for applications and products within the Retail domain (Grocery, Apparel, General Merchandise, e-commerce, B2B retail) – from user flows and wireframes to high-fidelity, production-ready UI
• Build and maintain reusable design systems and component libraries; rapidly prototype concepts using AI-assisted tools such as v0, Lovable, or Framer to validate ideas with stakeholders
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and consulting teams to translate business problems into scalable, user-centric solutions, and stay informed about design and front-end trends
• The Associate is expected to have a strong eye for design, seek out challenging problems, and produce their own ideas, which they will be encouraged to brainstorm with peers and managers. They should be willing to learn new tools and techniques, and demonstrate a willingness to write modular, reusable, and functional code
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• 2–4 years of experience in front-end development and UI/UX design for web applications or data products
• Proficiency in front-end development using React and Next.js with TypeScript, HTML5/CSS3, Tailwind CSS and ShadCN/UI (or Radix / Material UI)
• Experience with state management, REST API integration, web performance optimisation and crossbrowser testing
• Ability to build and maintain design systems and component libraries, and hand off developer-ready specs
• Strong UI/UX fundamentals – user research, wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, responsive design and accessibility (WCAG)
• Hands-on proficiency with Figma (Auto Layout, components, variants) and AI-assisted prototyping tools such as v0, Lovable or Framer
• Good-to-have: Back-end development exposure using Python (FastAPI preferred) or similar technologies, and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Good-to-have: Working knowledge of deploying apps – Docker, CI/CD, Git/GitHub and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Good-to-have: Data-visualisation libraries (D3.js, Recharts, Plotly) and prior exposure to consulting projects or the Retail domain
