Role overview

Associate Director at Dubai Holding Investments, responsible for portfolio operations, intelligence, strategy, and value creation.

Turns strategy and operating models into disciplined investment processes, portfolio reporting, decision-useful insight, and measurable outcomes.

Strategy and value creation

  • Support strategy development, planning, market research, competitive analysis, scenario analysis, and growth-opportunity identification.
  • Translate approved strategy into initiatives, financial models, business cases, value hypotheses, success metrics, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Improve investment lifecycle processes, track commitments and value realization, and assess commercial opportunities.

Portfolio oversight and delivery

  • Maintain portfolio KPIs, performance analysis, review packs, and committee, Board, and shareholder reporting.
  • Identify portfolio trends, emerging risks, data gaps, and cross-portfolio themes; recommend actions relevant to capital allocation.
  • Lead governance and operating-model improvements, post-investment reviews, strategic mandates, cross-functional workstreams, and adviser delivery.

Experience and education

  • Requires 8–10 years in strategy, value creation, portfolio management, or institutional investment operations in a relevant organization.
  • Requires demonstrated strategy-to-delivery experience, cross-functional process and governance improvement, portfolio analysis, and senior stakeholder presentations.
  • Multi-asset portfolio exposure and GCC/Dubai market experience are preferred.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or a related discipline; an MBA is preferred.
  • Relevant CFA, CA/CPA, FRM, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma certification is advantageous.

Technical competencies

  • Requires strategic planning, market research, financial modelling, scenario analysis, value creation, business cases, and commercial evaluation skills.
  • Requires portfolio analytics, KPI frameworks, risk and exposure analysis, investment governance, operating-model and process design, and executive reporting.
  • Requires advanced Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of BI and portfolio analytics tools.

Stakeholder and leadership approach

Works across investment, portfolio, and enabling teams to align priorities, clear blockers, and support decisions.

Prepares executive presentations and reports, manages external advisers, and shares knowledge to build team capability.
