Role overview
The Associate Data Engineer designs and builds data pipelines and prototypes for Al Tayer's omnichannel brands.
Data sources include Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, Firebase, Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud, and other internal and external systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement ETL pipelines that load data from multiple sources into the data warehouse.
- Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and large data volumes.
- Build data-processing workflows with AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, Amazon S3, and API gateways.
- Maintain data integrity and quality and report on them weekly or monthly.
- Create Tableau visualizations and dashboards for business stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot data issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
- Develop prototypes, including machine-learning products and basic frontends, and support them end to end.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or information technology.
- At least 4 years of experience.
- An open mindset and eagerness to learn and experiment with data.
Knowledge and skills
- Python and SQL.
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Streaming and batch data processing.
- Cloud computing using GCP or AWS.
- Visualization tools such as Tableau, Data Studio, or Metabase.
- CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Basic understanding of machine learning methods such as logistic regression, NLP, and clustering.
- Exposure to machine learning, NLP, and LLMs is an added advantage.
