Associate Data Analyst

Role overview

Location and working arrangement

• Hybrid role in Birmingham, with a minimum of three office days per week.

Hours and employment

• Permanent position.
• Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with stated hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Analysis toolkit

• Tools currently used include Power BI, Databricks with SQL and Python notebooks, VS Code, Git, and Power Automate.

Key responsibilities

• Answer business questions with accurate data and maintain dashboards and tools for daily operations.
• Validate data, implement changes where needed, and respond to ad hoc requests and larger projects.
• Build knowledge of BCA Logistics operations and work with Data Integration and Reporting Services.
• Learn new tools, collaborate with the Analysis and Insights team, share best practice, and contribute to business projects.
• Track work, raise blockers or conflicting priorities, and keep up with team tools and working methods.

Knowledge and experience

• Experience in data analysis, including an apprenticeship or degree in a related field.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, SQL, Power BI (DAX), or advanced Excel analysis.
• Ability to validate and clean data, find suitable data, and use analysis to answer business questions.
• Ability to present insights clearly to stakeholders and work with varied data quality and ambiguity.
• Attention to detail and willingness to ask for feedback or help when needed.
• Appreciation of BCA Logistics’ operational challenges and working practices.
