Assistant Store Manager – Pedal Mafia (Perth, WA)

Pedal Mafia is a premium Australian cycling apparel brand, founded in Perth in 2014 and known for its modern, non-traditional take on jerseys, bibs, and accessories. From our entry-level Core collection to our high-performance Pro line and collaborations with Oracle Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin F1, we build kit for riders who care about how they look and how they perform.

Role Overview

We're looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help lead our Perth store alongside the Store Manager. You'll spend most of your time on the shop floor serving customers and supporting the team, while owning the flow of product and orders behind the scenes, including inbound and outbound deliveries, shipping logistics, and order management across both Retail and Custom. It's a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves cycling, thrives on keeping things running smoothly, and is ready to step up and lead the store when the Store Manager is away.

You'll:

Deliver an exceptional customer experience on the shop floor, using strong product knowledge and Shopify POS to process sales, returns, and exchanges

Support Custom clients in-store, guiding them through the custom process and keeping them updated on order progress

Lead from the floor during your shifts, engaging customers and supporting the team to hit sales goals across Retail and Custom

Own inbound deliveries: receiving, checking, processing, and putting away stock

Own outbound deliveries and shipping for online, retail, and Custom orders, including packing, dispatch, and carrier coordination

Track Retail and Custom orders from receipt through to delivery or collection, following up on any delays or discrepancies

Coordinate the handover of Custom orders between the store, the Custom team, and customers

Keep the store merchandised, stocked, and presented to brand standards, and the stockroom and packing areas organised, safe, and efficient

Monitor inventory, support replenishment and transfers, and assist with stock counts

Lead opening and closing procedures and follow cash handling, stock security, and loss prevention practices

Support the Store Manager in coaching, training, and guiding the team, and lead the store in their absence

Help bring the community to life through in-store events, group rides, product launches, and local activations

Contribute content and ideas for the store's social channels

Keep the Store Manager and broader leadership informed on sales, inventory, order status, customer feedback, and upcoming events

What We're Looking For

2–3 years' retail experience, including supervisory or team leadership responsibilities

Previous experience in premium apparel, sporting goods, or specialty retail

Experience with inventory management, order management, and shipping or logistics processes

Experience with visual merchandising and maintaining store presentation standards

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience using Microsoft Office and Apple platforms

Availability to work a Tuesday to Saturday roster, including Saturdays, with occasional public holidays and evening community events

Ability to stand and move for extended periods and lift and carry merchandise and shipments up to 15 kg

Unrestricted Australian working rights

Bonus Points If You...

Have experience with Shopify POS

Are a keen cyclist with a genuine understanding of cycling products and culture

Know the Perth and WA cycling scene and love being part of it

Why You'll Love This Role

You'll be part of a brand with a strong identity and a genuine following in the cycling world

You'll get real ownership of how product and orders move through the store, across both Retail and Custom

You'll build your leadership skills working closely with the Store Manager, with the opportunity to lead the store in their absence

You'll be at the centre of Perth's cycling community through group rides, events, and launches

You'll work a consistent Tuesday to Saturday roster
