Assistant Reservations Manager

Role summary

Education and experience

• High school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related professional area.
• Alternatively, a two-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major and 1 year of related professional experience.

Revenue and reservations sales

• Identify reservations sales opportunities and pursue property revenue goals.
• Assess competitors, market conditions, economic trends, supply, and demand to guide selling.
• Close opportunities based on market conditions and property needs; monitor same-day selling to maximize room revenue and manage occupancy.
• Understand target customers and service expectations to recommend suitable solutions.
• Respond to sales opportunities; negotiate and close business, negotiate contracts, and prepare proposals and customer correspondence.
• Monitor reservation order accuracy, track no-shows and process charges, and manage waitlists and contact priorities.
• Use sales resources and support staff effectively; prepare work and maintenance orders.

Customer service and operations

• Deliver service excellence, uphold company and property brand standards, and build customer loyalty and satisfaction.
• Assist customers before and during programs or events and set a positive example for guest relations.
• Handle guest complaints and disputes using instant pacification procedures.
• Use the company intranet and create contracts as required.
