Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Employability, Career & Alumni Development supports the University's strategic objectives by enhancing graduate employability, strengthening alumni engagement, and building sustainable industry partnerships.

The role oversees career development initiatives, employment outcomes tracking, employer relations, and alumni programs to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements while maximizing student and graduate success

Key Responsibilities

  • Career Counseling: Provide personalized career guidance to students, assisting them in identifying their strengths, interests, and career goals. Offer insights into potential career paths and job market trends
  • Employability Workshops: Organize workshops and seminars on topics such as interview skills, networking etiquette, and professional development, aimed at enhancing students' employability
  • Career Development Programs: Design and implement career-focused programs that provide students with exposure to different industries, helping them make informed career decisions.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data on students' career outcomes and alumni engagement, using insights to improve career development strategies.
  • Industry Partnerships: Establish and nurture partnerships with industry professionals and organizations to facilitate guest lectures, workshops, internships, part-time & Full-time opportunities and maintain an active & updated employers database.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with academic departments and other student affairs units to align career development initiatives with academic programs.
  • Alumni Strategy: Develop a strategic plan for alumni engagement, outlining objectives, activities, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of alumni relations efforts.
  • Professional Development for Alumni: Organize workshops, seminars, and webinars tailored to alumni, offering opportunities to enhance their skills, stay updated on industry trends, and foster continuous learning.
  • Alumni Recognition: Develop and implement a system to recognize outstanding achievements of alumni, both professionally and within their communities, through awards and accolades.
  • Alumni Involvement: Invite successful alumni to participate as speakers, mentors, or panelists in college events, sharing their insights and experiences with current students.
  • Alumni Fund: Create and oversee an alumni fund that collects donations from alumni to support scholarships, research initiatives, and projects that benefit the college and its community.
  • Meet the required KPIs associated with the MoHESR framework (OBEF) and internal strategy
  • Any other duty assigned by the line Manager.

  • Proficient in scheduling, organizing, and executing assigned tasks, while comprehending and following both oral and written instructions.
  • Event planning and project coordination skills.
  • Exhibits excellent time management abilities, adept at working under deadlines, navigating frequent interruptions, and prioritizing activities across various job functions.
  • Demonstrates initiative in independently and promptly completing tasks.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced growth environment, capable of quickly shifting focus between projects.
  • Knowledgeable about diverse career paths and options across sectors, familiar with job market trends and industry demands.
  • Proficient in collecting and analysing career-related data, adept at adapting strategies based on data-driven outcomes.
  • Capable of building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English and Arabic, adapting communication style to suit diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web conferencing tools, and Internet-based systems and programs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Three (3) years of related experience in student affairs programs in higher education.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration or a closely related field.
  • Master’s preferred.
