Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Dispatch Manager in overseeing daily dispatch operations.
- Monitor driver schedules, route planning, and load assignments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Support in tracking shipments and addressing exceptions or delays.
- Handle escalations from customers, drivers, or internal teams, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, performance metrics, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with warehouse, transportation, and customer service teams for smooth operations.
- Train and mentor dispatch staff on procedures, systems, and best practices.
- Support in preparing reports on KPIs such as on-time delivery, route efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 5-7 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation; 1-2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and MS Excel.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
