Ensures guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well maintained while supporting guest and employee satisfaction and operating budgets.
Housekeeping operations
- Communicate guestroom status to the Front Desk promptly and efficiently.
- Inspect guestrooms daily and support inspections of guestrooms and public spaces.
- Prepare room-cleaning assignments using room-status and departure information.
- Maintain adequate supplies and ensure employees have appropriate supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Supervise housekeeping shift operations and ensure compliance with department policies, standards, and procedures.
- Communicate priorities to staff, participate in department meetings, and support budgeted financial goals.
Staff and guest service
- Train new room attendants and provide follow-up training as needed.
- Schedule employees according to business demands and track time and attendance.
- Oversee staffing levels, employee expectations, policies, recognition, feedback, and progressive discipline.
- Model positive guest relations, empower employees to provide service, and respond to guest problems and complaints.
- Participate in corrective action plans and continuous improvement to improve guest satisfaction and service performance.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area; alternatively, a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with no work experience required.
