Assistant Controller

Opportunity

What you'll do

• Analyze inventory, sales, costs, margins and variances across plants and distribution centers, and discuss insights with operations managers.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, lead account reconciliations, manage fixed assets and prepaids, and support year-end audit.
• Build the annual budget with department leaders, validate forecast data, and track assumptions and variances.
• Test and refine Microsoft D365 reports, automate manual work and improve finance processes.
• Collaborate with finance, operations and administrative teams on projects to improve financial performance.
• Explain financial results and cost or margin changes to operational stakeholders; support U.S. operations with forecast information.

What you bring

• CPA designation and a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in cost control, budgeting, forecasting and process improvement.
• Manufacturing experience is a strong asset.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas and Power Query.
• Experience with an ERP such as D365, Microsoft AX or SAP.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication of financial results to non-finance colleagues.
• Bilingual French and English, with strong written and spoken English.
