Assistant Banquet Manager

Role summary

Banquet operations

• Ensure staff teamwork and inspect grooming and attire, correcting deficiencies.
• Respond to special event arrangements and coordinate with guests, employees, and departments to meet guest needs.
• Set up banquet areas and rooms, ensuring cleanliness and correct placement of furniture and equipment.
• Inspect and maintain table settings against cleanliness, group requirements, and company standards; resolve issues.
• Record pertinent information in the department logbook.

Team and guest service

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and coaching employees.
• Develop positive working relationships and support common team goals.
• Welcome guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate professionally.

Safety and work conditions

• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training.
• The role involves extended standing or walking, lifting and carrying, and moving over uneven or sloped surfaces.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.
