Assistant Accountant
About This Role
Job Summary:
The Accounts Assistant supports the finance department by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in the preparation of reports. The role ensures timely processing of transactions and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Prepare and update accounting documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and expense reports
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
- Assist in payroll processing and employee reimbursements
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for financial matters
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in a similar role (1–2 years preferred)
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
