Assistant Accountant
About This Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Assistant Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulations, and support our organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accounting principles, experience with accounting software, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recorded and maintain all financial transactions (payment, receipt, journal, contra) with proper supporting documentation (Invoices, LPO, GRN, Delivery Notes, Petty Cash Vouchers).
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including journal entries, monthly closing, bank reconciliation, general ledger management, and chart of accounts maintenance with accurate ledger classification.
- Prepare and analyz financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with IFRS and GAAP, ensuring UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, payroll compliance, and WPS processing support.
- Handle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, client invoicing, billing, collections, credit control, and vendor aging, efecient follow-ups.
- Prepare bank-related documents (payments, transfers, deposits) for submission and ensured compliance with banking requirements
- Handle month-end and year-end closings, including provisions, accruals, deferrals, audit coordination, petty cash management, expense recording, and petty cash reporting.
- Coordinate with sales, procurement, and operations departments to obtain data for timely recording and updating of accounts.
- Oversee inventory valuation and fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and amortization.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Good knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
