Purpose of the Role
As a Accountant – Accounts Receivable , you play a key role in managing and optimizing the company’s accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong cash flow performance.
You act as a financial partner to Sales, Customer Service, and customers, providing insights into payment behavior, credit risk, and working capital. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you contribute to improving financial processes, supporting business decisions, and maintaining high standards of compliance and data integrity.
Your role combines technical accounting expertise with analytical thinking and cross-functional collaboration. By leveraging financial data and systems, you support the organisation in enhancing efficiency, minimizing risk, and driving continuous improvement in receivables management.
The key responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):
- You manage end-to-end accounts receivable activities, including collections, reconciliations, and dispute resolution.
- You act as the main point of contact for internal teams regarding customer financial status, credit terms, and payment performance.
- You analyse payment trends, assess credit risk, and provide insights to support cash flow and working capital management.
- You support contract and payment term discussions, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives.
- You recommend and implement actions such as credit holds, payment plans, and write-offs within established guidelines.
- You collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex billing discrepancies and customer issues.
- You support Customer Service in managing escalated payment-related concerns and disputes.
- You lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and workflow optimization within AR.
- You prepare and maintain AR reports, dashboards, and forecasts using tools such as SAP and Power BI.
- You ensure data accuracy and integrity across ERP and CRM systems, supporting audit readiness and compliance.
- You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations and communication.
Required knowledge & experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, credit management, and financial controls.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and translate insights into actions.
- Advanced Excel skills and overall system proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- A proactive, structured, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex payment and billing issues.
