Application Engineer - PDM/CAD & Solidworks

Overview

Presale Support

• Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and challenges.
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of SolidWorks solutions.
• Assist in creating technical proposals and responding to customer queries related to SolidWorks products.
• Conduct structured discovery calls with prospects and existing customers to identify current CAD tools, limitations and design their complexity
• Customizing the demo based on the industry specific and doing POC's
• Regularly upgrading the knowledge through applicable certifications whenever applicable either adding or upgrading the latest tools & features

Post Sale Support

• Provide post-sale technical support and guidance to customers.
• Engage with the new customers for onboarding, adoption monitoring & usage analysis of our current solutions and provide the support accordingly
• Working closely with the new and existing customers on regular basis to identify upsell or cross sell opportunities to share it with the sales team
• Conduct training sessions for end-users on SolidWorks products, including CAD, Simulation and PDM.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, working closely with customers and the technical support team.

Communication

• Maintain the time sheet for all days with support activities and to be shared with the line manager periodically.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with both internal teams and external clients.
• Act as a bridge between customers and the technical support and development teams ensuring smooth information flow.

Product Knowledge

• Develop and maintain a solid understanding of SolidWorks products, stay updated on new features and releases.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in engineering software.

Qualification and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering, computer science, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with both internal teams and external clients, including listening to customer requirements and presenting technical information clearly.
• Technical Proficiency in SolidWorks Portfolio: A strong understanding of SolidWorks products, including 3D Experience portfolio, CAD, Simulation, and PDM, with the ability to conduct product demonstrations and provide technical support.
• Sales Collaboration: Capability to work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs, assisting creating technical proposals, and deliver effective product presentations.
