Role overview

Integration responsibilities

• Design and implement API and enterprise integration solutions; develop and maintain RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and other interfaces.
• Connect internal applications, third-party platforms, SaaS products, databases, and cloud services; translate business and technical requirements into integration approaches.
• Develop specifications, workflows, interface definitions, and documentation; establish API design standards and integration patterns.
• Integrate CRM, ERP, payment, e-commerce, analytics, identity, and other enterprise systems using middleware and integration services.
• Build data exchange, transformation, event-driven, messaging, asynchronous, and real-time integration capabilities as needed.
• Apply authentication, authorization, encryption, access controls, rate limiting, gateways, routing, transformation, and orchestration.
• Troubleshoot API and integration problems; monitor availability, latency, throughput, errors, and performance; implement observability.
• Manage API versioning, lifecycle, backward compatibility, deprecation, and governance.
• Collaborate on cloud integration, modernization, migration, and digital transformation; evaluate third-party APIs and integration technologies.
• Support unit, integration, performance, security, and automated testing; maintain architecture diagrams, API documentation, mappings, and runbooks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in API Integration, Integration Engineering, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or a similar role.
• Strong API design, integration architecture, and distributed-systems knowledge; hands-on REST API and web-service experience.
• Knowledge of HTTP, HTTPS, JSON, XML, OAuth, JWT, and webhooks; programming or scripting ability in Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or another relevant language.
• Experience with databases, SQL, data transformation, and system-to-system exchange; understanding of middleware, message brokers, event-driven and asynchronous patterns.
• Strong cloud architecture and cloud integration knowledge; familiarity with microservices, containerization, and distributed application architectures.
• Understanding of API security, identity, encryption, authentication, and authorization; experience with CI/CD, Git, testing, and DevOps.
• API gateways and API management platform experience is preferred; named platforms include MuleSoft, Boomi, Apigee, Kong, Azure API Management, and AWS API Gateway.
• Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Amazon SQS/SNS, enterprise-system experience, and relevant certifications are beneficial or advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
