Role overview

The Analytics Engineer transforms raw data into structured, reliable, accessible models for analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders.

The role works with data engineers on scalable pipelines and with analysts to make data actionable and insightful.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable data models using SQL and dbt, and optimize queries and processing.
  • Structure data for self-service analytics and business intelligence.
  • Define data requirements with data engineers and enhance ETL pipelines.
  • Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business teams on analytical and reporting needs.
  • Implement data quality practices and develop data transformations using dbt, SQL, and cloud platforms.
  • Automate validation and reporting, monitor data integrity, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Promote documentation, testing, and version-control best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a similar field; a postgraduate degree is a plus but not required.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on data-modeling experience using dbt.
  • Strong Python and SQL proficiency and experience with dbt.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, GCP, or Redshift.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices for data workflows.
  • Understanding of data engineering principles, including ETL/ELT.
