About the role
Support technical product development on key projects, primarily air fresheners.
Use scientific instruments and air sampling to analyze and interpret test results that inform project decisions and product development.
Responsibilities
- Operate instruments including GC-MS, FTIR, and Karl Fischer equipment.
- Prepare samples and conduct analysis using available instrumental techniques.
- Collaborate with development teams and report analysis results.
- Apply basic laboratory techniques and maintain hands-on bench competence.
- Assess complex problems and investigate or devise solutions.
- Maintain laboratory SOPs and health and safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, health and safety, and environmental requirements, promoting laboratory best practices.
Experience and skills
- Degree-level education in a scientific subject; chemistry is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify, assess, and communicate risks.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and willing to take initiative.
- Able to analyze and interpret laboratory data, including statistical evaluation of results.
- Strong analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to explore new ideas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with confident presentation ability.
