Analyste de données BI / BI Data Analyst
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Business Intelligence Data Analyst to join our Information Architecture & Analytics team. In this role, you will serve as the strategic bridge between our core business processes, operational source systems, and enterprise data warehouse ecosystem.
As a BI Data Analyst, your focus will be on data profiling, solution architecture design, impact analysis, and delivery management. You will work extensively across a Microsoft-heavy environment—encompassing on-premises SQL Servers, SSIS, SSAS, Azure Cloud Databases/Data Lakes, and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI. While dedicated Data Engineers own the backend pipeline and migration development, you will design the blueprints, author technical documentation, write analytical SQL queries, build business-facing Power BI semantic models and reports, and direct the engineering team through implementation.
Your day at a glance:
Data Warehouse Solution Design & Engineering Oversight
Perform deep-dive data profiling and analyze source system characteristics, schemas, and architecture to design target implementations for our enterprise data warehouse ecosystem
Author comprehensive technical artifacts, including Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), source-to-target mapping, data lineage documentation, and functional specifications
Collaborate with a team of Data Engineers to ensure designed warehouse additions, ETL patterns, and batch integrations are implemented accurately and according to plan
Power BI, Semantic Modeling & Operational Support
Develop, maintain, and optimize robust, enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and Microsoft Fabric semantic models (including DAX calculations, relationships, and security policies)
Profile and inspect data using SQL SELECT queries across on-premises databases and Azure/Fabric SQL analytics endpoints to guide engineering decisions and validate data quality
Analyze, coordinate, and execute targeted data cleanup initiatives and mass data update operations within operational systems when required
Handle complex ad-hoc data extract and analytical requests to support executive and departmental decision-making
Business Process Analysis & Downstream Impact Management
Analyze evolving business processes to determine their structural impact on our broader reporting and data ecosystem
Conduct proactive impact analyses when source system behaviors, schemas, or application structures change—identifying affected downstream reports, business processes, and key stakeholders
Coordinate cross-functionally with Data Analysts and Data Engineers to prioritize, execute, and validate the required remediation work across affected pipelines and reports
Batch Integrations & IT Solutions Consulting
Analyze, design, and prepare technical integration documentation for batch Integrations between operational systems, overseeing data engineering execution
Partner with internal IT application and infrastructure teams during the design phase of new software solutions, providing analytical input to flag backend designs or schemas that violate data modeling best practices
Lead the analytical planning, designing, validation & implementation for data migration projects when introducing new enterprise solutions, guiding data engineers through execution
What makes you a great fit:
3–5+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence Analyst, Business Process Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role within an enterprise IT environment
Experience working in hybrid environments transitioning from SQL/SSIS workloads into Microsoft Fabric or Azure cloud architecture
Prior experience with formal IT change management and project delivery frameworks
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
Master's degree or MBA considered an asset
