Role overview

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer role focused on mission-critical financial applications in the capital markets domain.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in manual testing, API testing, and message queue validation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and cases; participate in requirement reviews, defect triage, and release planning.
  • Perform end-to-end manual testing for web-based and distributed applications across functional, integration, system, and regression phases.
  • Validate message processing and asynchronous flows using IBM MQ or equivalent technologies.
  • Design and execute API tests; validate JSON/XML payloads and backend integrations.
  • Develop Python and Selenium WebDriver automation frameworks and reusable scripts, and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Investigate defects, conduct root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with development teams.
  • Validate capital markets trade lifecycle workflows and market data processing.
  • Prepare test reports, quality metrics, and release sign-off documentation; mentor junior QA engineers and improve QA practices.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years in manual testing, API testing, and message queue validation.
  • Strong manual testing experience and experience with functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
  • Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps and REST API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or SoapUI.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM MQ, JMS, Kafka, or similar messaging technologies.
  • Strong Python skills, extensive Selenium WebDriver experience, and experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Strong capital markets knowledge and experience in relevant products or workflows, such as equities, derivatives, trade lifecycle, OMS, or market data.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications

  • PyTest, Unittest, or Robot Framework knowledge is preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum experience, CI/CD tools, SQL and database validation, and performance testing exposure are preferred or advantageous.
  • ISTQB certification is preferred.
