The Ontario Veterinary College seeks a collaborative, service-oriented junior analyst for its Data and Analytics team within Integrated College Services.

The role supports planning, operations, service delivery, and decision-making by improving data assets, reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.

A key focus is business-managed data structures, primarily in SharePoint and third-party applications, integrated into the College’s Microsoft Fabric analytics environment and delivered through Power BI and/or Copilot Agents.

The position is temporary full-time from November 23, 2026, to May 19, 2028.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand stakeholders’ business processes, information needs, and reporting requirements.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve structured data assets using SharePoint and departmental systems.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical tools for operational and strategic decisions.
  • Support integration of College-managed data into the broader analytics environment.
  • Review, validate, and organize data to improve quality, consistency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Assist with data modelling, documentation, governance, and platform administration.
  • Identify improvements to reporting processes, data collection, automation, and information access.
  • Troubleshoot data and reporting issues and develop practical solutions with stakeholders.
  • Prepare documentation and provide guidance or training on data tools and reports.
  • Collaborate with OVC Technology Group and Institutional Research and Planning analysts.
  • Contribute to initiatives involving AI, automation, advanced analytics, and modern data platforms.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, statistics, business, data analytics, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in data, reporting, business intelligence, information systems, or analytical tools.
  • Experience organizing, validating, transforming, and analyzing data, and developing reports, dashboards, or other data products.
  • Knowledge of databases, data structures, data modelling, or data management practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical data or reporting solutions and explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate in a service-oriented team, and use sound judgment with sensitive information.
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, or related technology experience is an asset.
