Aluminum Draftsman

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in aluminum, façades, curtain walls, doors, and windows industry.
• **Strong knowledge of aluminum systems and façade construction methods.**

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings based on contract drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Develop fabrication drawings for aluminum profiles, glass, accessories, and hardware.
• Prepare material take-offs (MTO) and cutting lists for production.
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, and MEP drawings to resolve clashes and discrepancies.
• Revise drawings according to consultant comments and project changes.
• Coordinate with suppliers and system providers regarding profiles, accessories, and technical details.
• Support the estimation and procurement teams with technical information when required.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, local codes, and company standards.
• Maintain drawing registers and document control procedures.
• Assist site engineers and project managers with technical clarifications.
• Experience with curtain walls, unitized systems, stick systems, windows, doors, and cladding.
• Familiarity with thermal break systems, glazing details, and façade accessories.
• Experience working with major aluminum system suppliers such as Schüco, Technal, ….. etc.
• Prepare the cutting list for fabrication.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit (preferred).
• Knowledge of façade and aluminum design software such as LogiKal or equivalent.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication and installation processes.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
