Job Description
The Airport Systems Engineer ICT / ELV shall be responsible for the planning, design review, engineering coordination, supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover of ICT, ELV, Security, and Special Airport Systems for airport infrastructure and aviation-related projects.
The role requires extensive experience in airport environments and the ability to coordinate with clients, operators, consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery in compliance with applicable international and local standards.
Candidates without proven airport project experience will not be considered.
Required Airport Experience
- The candidate shall demonstrate experience in one or more of the following airport project types:
- Airport Passenger Terminals.
- Cargo Terminals and Logistics Facilities.
- Airport Security Facilities.
- Airside Infrastructure Projects.
- Airport Expansion and Modernization Projects.
- Airport Operational Readiness and Transition (ORAT) Activities.
- Airport Systems Integration Projects.
- Technical Competencies
- The candidate shall possess knowledge and practical experience in several of the following systems:
- including ICT systems (structured cabling, LAN/WAN, data centers, active equipment, wireless, voice and IP telephony, and network security), airport operational systems (FIDS, CUPPS, CUSS, BHS/BRS interfaces, AODB, master clock, and PAVA), security systems (CCTV, access control, PIDS, screening equipment, X-ray, explosive and metal detection, vehicle access control, ANPR, and barriers), and ELV systems (fire alarm, BMS, IPTV, audiovisual, UPS, integrated platforms, and emergency communication).
Key Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities include reviewing design documents, calculations, specifications, and drawings; assessing shop drawings and technical submittals; ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards; supporting value engineering initiatives; monitoring installation activities and conducting inspections; reviewing contractor progress and quality; identifying non-conformities; supporting testing and commissioning through review of procedures and witnessing FAT/SAT; verifying system performance and integration; coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders; participating in project meetings and planning; and supporting handover activities including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, snagging, and final acceptance
- Knowledge of Standards
- The Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with applicable standards and regulations, including ICAO SARPs, IATA Airport Development and Operations Guidelines, FAA Advisory Circulars and design standards, NFPA, IEC, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards, as well as local building codes, airport security regulations, and aviation authority requirements.

- Greenfield airport developments.
- Major airport expansion projects.
- ORAT and airport transition programs.
- Large-scale integrated airport systems.
- Experience within the GCC region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, ICT Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Professional engineering registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized engineering body is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in ICT, ELV, Security, or Airport Systems.
- Minimum 5 years of airport project experience (Mandatory).
- Experience in design consultancy, PMC, supervision consultancy, contractor, or airport operator environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
