Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own AI architecture and harness design, including model selection, prompting, retrieval, guardrails, and voice pipeline.
• Document technical decisions; define evaluation standards and move experiments into production.
• Introduce agent-development testing frameworks and monitor production quality, hallucinations, and latency.
• Lead platform development, mentor AI engineers, raise engineering standards, and contribute to hiring.
• Lead production incident debugging and manage prototypes validating models, agent patterns, and voice capabilities.
• Partner with Product on customer requirements and Engineering on tool calling, workflows, deployment, and scaling.

Requirements

• 7+ years in software or ML engineering, including 2+ years building production LLM applications; platform-level experience required.
• Technically led at least three AI engineers or scientists through design reviews, standards, and mentoring.
• Hands-on expertise in prompting, structured outputs, guardrails, agent patterns, and harness development.
• Built LLM evaluation pipelines using golden datasets, LLM-as-judge, or regression suites to gate releases.
• Strong Python and experience with APIs, cloud deployment, observability, and distributed-systems debugging.
• Fluent written and spoken English and able to write clear design documents and decision records.

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Arabic NLP, especially Gulf Arabic, in LLM or speech systems.
• Voice AI experience with ASR, TTS, real-time voice agents, and latency optimization.
• Hands-on LLM tracing and online evaluation tools such as Langfuse or Arize.
• Fine-tuning or distilling open-weight models and serving them cost-effectively.
