IQTech is looking for motivated AI Software Engineering Interns to support the development of EsculapioVR, an advanced VR and AI-powered platform for medical training, simulation, and objective assessment.
The internship is focused on backend development, AI integration, and the implementation of Large Language Model workflows within a real product environment.
The selected candidates will work with technologies and concepts related to Laravel, APIs, AI providers, prompt engineering, structured outputs, scenario generation, assessment logic, and AI-powered feedback systems.
The role is not limited to a single AI provider.
Candidates will be encouraged to work with and compare different LLM providers and approaches, including OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and potentially open-source or self-hosted models, depending on the product requirements.
Main responsibilities
- Support backend development using Laravel/PHP.
- Assist in the integration of different LLM APIs and AI providers.
- Help design a flexible AI layer that can support multiple providers.
- Work on prompt engineering, structured outputs, and AI workflow design.
- Support the creation of AI-driven medical training scenarios.
- Help develop logic for evaluation, feedback, scoring, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the VR, creative, and product teams to transform medical procedures into interactive simulation workflows.
- Test AI outputs, identify inconsistencies, and help improve reliability.
- Document technical choices, API behavior, and product improvements.
- Preferred skills:
- Basic or intermediate knowledge of backend development.
- Familiarity with PHP/Laravel or willingness to learn quickly.
- Interest in artificial intelligence, LLMs, AI APIs, and prompt engineering.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs, databases, and JSON structures.
- Curiosity about OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, and other AI model providers.
- Good logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Good English communication skills.
- Interest in healthcare innovation, VR, simulation, or education technology.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with Python, Node.js, or AI tools.
- Previous personal projects involving AI, chatbots, agents, automation, or dashboards.
- Basic knowledge of Unity, VR, AR, or game development pipelines.
- Understanding of RAG, vector databases, embeddings, or AI evaluation methods.
- Interest in medical training, digital assessment, and simulation-based learning.
- This internship is ideal for candidates who want to gain hands-on experience in a startup environment and contribute to a real international AI/VR product with applications in healthcare, education, and professional training.
