About the opportunity

Workplace

• Hybrid position with an expectation of approximately 60% in-office presence.

What you will do

• Develop AI solutions to scale and industrialize at RAN level, improving troubleshooting from customer to design.
• Own design, implementation, integration, verification, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled software.
• Build data ingestion, transformation, validation, quality checks, metadata handling, reusable pipelines, and reliable processing.
• Use logs, telemetry, test and CI/CD results, trouble reports, and code review information while respecting security, confidentiality, and access controls.
• Integrate AI into Git-based development, Gerrit/code review, CI, automated testing, secure development, and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with developers, data scientists, architects, product owners, and R&D stakeholders on scalable, maintainable, secure solutions.
• Mentor colleagues, contribute to design reviews, and help adopt AI-assisted development and data-driven approaches responsibly.

Skills and experience

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience is equally valued.
• Approximately six or more years of software development experience, preferably in telecommunications software.
• Cloud-native and/or custom software background using containers, Kubernetes, Python, Java, shell scripting, and Linux.
• Experience integrating AI/ML into software workflows, including AI-assisted development, automated testing, LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, and domain-specific model adaptation.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Git workflows, Gerrit/code review, automated verification, secure development, DevSecOps, and vulnerability management.
• Practical data engineering experience spanning ingestion, transformation, validation, quality, metadata, traceability, access control, pipelines, and monitoring.
• Experience creating AI-ready datasets and actionable insights from engineering data.
• Ability to design secure, scalable, maintainable AI solutions and convert prototypes into reusable software components.
• Experience contributing to technical direction and improving engineering practices across teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; familiarity with 5G NR, LTE RAN, or Cloud RAN is an asset.

Compensation

• The stated Ottawa salary range is CAD 101,500 to CAD 133,350; salary depends on location and job-related qualifications and experience.
• The compensation information describes an annual bonus opportunity.
