AI/ML Computational Science Manager

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design AI/ML systems using cloud AI services and architect scalable data pipelines for training and production.
• Apply deep learning and Generative AI models to business cases, considering data availability and infrastructure requirements.
• Evaluate solution quality, performance, and business value for stakeholders.
• Lead R&D into AI and HPC algorithms, models, and simulations; prepare and preprocess large-scale datasets.
• Implement and maintain storage and retrieval systems for models and knowledge bases.
• Lead and mentor AI/ML engineers and data scientists, setting technical direction and engineering standards.
• Work with clients and stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and deliver solutions from concept to production.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in AI/ML engineering, data science, or software engineering, including technical team leadership.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud AI platform.
• Strong Python and PyTorch or TensorFlow skills; deep learning and Generative AI expertise, including LLMs, fine-tuning, RAG, and prompt engineering.
• Strong MLOps/DevOps experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow or Kubeflow, and production model monitoring.
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines and data storage/retrieval technologies, including databases, data lakes, and vector databases.
• Experience deploying optimized models on edge devices and/or HPC environments.
• Clear communication of technical solutions and business value to senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• AI or HPC research record, such as publications, patents, or simulation work.
• Relevant Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud AI certifications.
• Consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
