Tackle big issues like cyber, trust, resilience and digital transformation Mentoring, coaching and leadership programs to help you make an impact that matters Join us as an AI Engineer in Sydney, working in a hybrid model to help design and build AI features that enable teams to work with structured and unstructured data and quickly produce client deliverables. What will your typical day look like? Build and improve AI features for business workflows using modern AI models, agentic patterns, and supporting code. Support pipeline development across data extraction, retrieval (RAG), and basic validation, with guidance from senior engineers. Testing and evaluation will form an important part of the role, including contributing to test sets, quality checks, and regression testing for prompts and workflows. You will also help ship and run AI services in development and production environments using team tooling and processes, while learning observability basics such as monitoring, logging, and tracking key accuracy and latency metrics. Collaboration is central to the role. You will work closely with practitioners, engineers, and security to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions, while contributing to AI applications that address real business challenges and helping the team take ideas from prototype through to reliable delivery. In this role, you’ll work with experienced engineers and practitioners to help design and build AI features that enable teams to work with a mix of structured and unstructured data and quickly produce client deliverables. Enough about us, let's talk about you You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences: 1–3 years’ experience (or equivalent internships/projects) in software engineering and AI Strong Python fundamentals and experience working with common data/AI libraries Understanding of core software engineering concepts (APIs, testing, version control, code review)

integrating applications with enterprise systems and APIs A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset Hands-on exposure to LLMs, including open-weight models, prompt engineering, retrieval (RAG), or agentic workflows Experience building simple production APIs (e.g., FastAPI) and integrating with databases (SQL/NoSQL) Why Deloitte?
