AFC Supervisor

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of instruments and equipment through cleaning, inspection, assembly, and packing to defined quality standards.
• Check washing, lay-up, and packing of theatre instrument and endoscope sets against contract specifications.
• Ensure missing or repaired instruments and equipment are recorded in the tracking and traceability system.
• Monitor health and safety compliance and ensure staff are informed and trained on workplace procedures.
• Ensure team production meets quality guidelines and contamination-control requirements.
• Coach team members, review goals, identify development needs, monitor absences, and maintain accurate records.
• Support production planning, communication, continuous improvement, 5S, Lean, and Kaizen activities.
• Participate in the one-call management rota for emergency customer services.

Working pattern

• Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:00.
• 37.5 hours per week.

Compensation and benefits

• Annual salary of £28,392.
• Shift allowances may apply for overtime or unsociable hours.

Required experience and skills

• Good general educational standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
• Basic end-user IT skills to operate the tracking and traceability system.
