Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Role Overview
Shriners Children’s is seeking a skilled, collaborative part-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support our pediatric orthopedic outreach clinic in Redmond, Oregon.
This 0.2 FTE role helps ensure consistent access to high-quality pediatric orthopedic care for children and families throughout Central Oregon.
The APP will work closely with Shriners Children’s Portland pediatric orthopedic surgeons, progressing toward greater clinical independence through a structured onboarding and training program.
Initially, the APP will partner directly with physicians on patient evaluations, treatment planning, and clinical procedures.
As competencies are achieved, the APP will assume increasing responsibility for the independent management of pediatric orthopedic patients in an outpatient setting.
To support specialty development, the selected APP will participate in a comprehensive one-year orientation program, including in-person training at Shriners Children’s Portland on the first and third Fridays of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Travel-related expenses associated with these training days will be covered by Shriners Children’s.
This provider will deliver comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care in an exclusively outpatient setting, managing preoperative, postoperative, and non-operative patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including fractures, scoliosis, sports injuries, neuromuscular disorders, developmental delays, and other orthopedic concerns.
