Overview
The Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance department with a variety of accounting tasks.
This includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
The Assistant Accountant will work closely with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting activities, including data entry, invoice processing, and journal entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions into the accounting system.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports for internal use.
- Assist with VAT/GST returns, tax filings, and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with relevant laws and standards.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Provide data for variance analysis and assist in financial planning activities.
- Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.
- Maintain financial files and records in an organized and accessible manner.
- Provide administrative support to senior accountants and the finance team as needed.
Key Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Part-qualified accountant
- Previous experience (4- 5 years) in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
- Experience with accounting software is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
