Accountant for F&B

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• **Cost Control:** Calculate daily/weekly food and beverage costs and investigate significant variances between theoretical and actual costs.
• **Inventory Management:** Oversee monthly physical stock counts and reconcile them with the Point of Sale (POS) and accounting systems.
• **Accounts Payable:** Process invoices, verify deliveries against Purchase Orders (POs), and manage relationships with food and liquor vendors.
• **Menu Engineering:** Work with the Executive Chef to analyze menu item profitability and suggest pricing adjustments.
• **Reporting:** Prepare monthly P&L statements specifically for the F&B department, highlighting waste, spoilage, and discounts.

& Qualifications

• **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management.
• **Experience:** 2–4 years of accounting experience specifically within a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment.
• **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in Excel and experience with F&B software (e.g., Micros, Oracle Simphony, QuickBooks, or Xero).
• **Analytical Mindset:** Ability to spot a 2% discrepancy in liquor costs and trace it back to the source.
