Accountant & Export Documentation Officer with Commodity Trading client

Overview

Role Overview

Accounting & Finance

• Record daily accounting transactions in Tally (sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journals)
• Book sales and purchase transactions in coordination with origin teams across Africa on a timely basis
• Reconcile debtors and creditors and actively follow up for collections and payments
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Ensure strong understanding and application of accounting principles

Banking & Payments

• Handle bank payments (vendor payments, advances, settlements) in a timely and controlled manner
• Coordinate with banks for transactions, documentation, and issue resolution
• Maintain proper tracking of all payments and ensure approvals as per company policy
• Monitor cash flow and support treasury-related activities

Export Documentation & Operations

• Check and manage export documentation (Invoice, Packing List, BL instructions, COO, etc.)

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare MIS reports using advanced Excel (shipment tracking, outstanding reports, financial summaries)
• Maintain proper documentation and records for all transactions
• Support management with data analysis and reporting

Audit & Compliance

• Handle internal and external audit requirements, including documentation and query resolution
• Ensure audit readiness and proper record-keeping at all times
• Strengthen internal controls and processes
• Key Requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5–8 years of experience in accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Proficiency in Tally and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Sumif’s)
• Experience in handling bank payments and reconciliations
• Strong follow-up skills and execution-driven mindset

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Comfortable in a fast-paced commodity trading/export environment
• Strong coordination and communication skills .
