Accountant & Collections Officer - U.A.E.

Position overview

Accounting and cash flow

• Maintain financial records, ledgers, and journals; record accounts payable, receivable, and journal entries.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; process payroll and comply with local tax and labor regulations.
• Support audits and comply with internal financial policies and procedures.
• Manage cash flow across assigned projects, track funds, support timely payments and collections, identify cash shortfalls, and provide updates and forecasts.

Collections and reporting

• Monitor overdue receivables and contact clients about unpaid invoices by phone, email, and official letters.
• Negotiate payment plans, track commitments, and maintain detailed collection communication records.
• Escalate unresolved accounts and coordinate with sales or service teams on billing disputes.
• Prepare aging and collections performance reports and recommend write-offs according to company policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and/or collections.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP/IFRS, and local financial regulations and tax compliance.
• Familiarity with banking procedures and financial instruments including Letters of Credit and Trust Receipts.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Quick Bills, SAP, or similar accounting software; strong Excel skills and general computer literacy.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, detail, accuracy, independence, and multitasking abilities.
