Accommodation Officer

The University’s Student Accommodation team is changing. We’re creating a student-centred service that makes navigating University life easier for our student tenants.

Our team of Accommodation Officers will be pivotal in making this happen. Working in a team of six Accommodation Officers, you’ll be providing an excellent service to prospective students and our student tenants across all aspects of their accommodation provision.

Reporting into the Accommodation Deputy Manager, you’ll lead on tasks and be a decision maker, working within pre-defined processes and policies.

You’ll also feed into our continuous improvement ambitions, putting forward ideas for change and willing to adapt to new ways of working as we strive to enhance our services.

You’ll be providing first-class customer service to all students in University-allocated accommodation, throughout their tenancy. We are landlord to over 8500 student and responsible for the annual accommodation application and allocations cycles for all student types, and for providing high-quality information, advice and support to students across all aspects of their accommodation.

You’ll be allocating accommodation, ensuring accommodation needs are met through the allocation process and students with additional needs are supported. Acting as accommodation expert within the organisation, you’ll provide advice and assistance to students on all matters relating to their tenancy.

You’ll also be working with the staff in our residences to create strong working relationships and an excellent knowledge of our residences within the Student Accommodation Team.

You have excellent organisational and data management skills as well as experience of working in a process driven environment. First class communication and customer service skills will also be essential as this is a student-facing role. You’ll need to feel confident working across multiple work strands with varying timescales and priorities in a busy and fast-paced environment.
