  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education
  • Valid teaching certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education
  • Archdiocese of Detroit Certified Catechist - current certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • Eagerness to continuously enrich teaching expertise through engagement in professional development opportunities.
  • Additionally, the candidate must complete the Protecting God’s Children training.
  • Provide rigorous instruction in alignment with Catholic teachings
  • Create an environment where Jesus is at the center of all learning and interactions, and the school vision is practiced. - “Building Strong Minds and Faithful Hearts through Catholic Education”
  • Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum and educational standards
  • Work as a member of a supportive faculty
  • Collaborate with colleagues on a regular basis
  • Strive for academic excellence through the use of robust teaching methods, student engagement and technology integration
  • Implement best pedagogical practices, particularly involving the language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science
  • Teach solid foundational skills in order for students to acquire pre-reading, pre-writing, and pre-math skills
  • Engage students in play based learning to promote problem solving , conflict resolutions, and cooperation skills
  • Provide innovative and differentiated instruction to best reach all levels of learners and learning styles
  • Establishes a consistent disciplinary approach which sets high standards for student behavior, promotes self-direction and confidence, and manages inappropriate behaviors effectively
  • Maintain a positive relationship with parents, students, and colleagues through regular communication
  • Provide a caring and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe to learn and grow academically, socially, and spiritually
  • Completes additional administrative, operational, and professional responsibilities as needed
