A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Copyedit all descriptions & scripts under tight deadline pressure

Check graphics and videos to ensure they match scripts

Communicate critical story information with producers and managers

Think outside the box to tell a story

Understand the importance of utilizing and writing to video

Operate as a team player

Conduct thorough research on top stories

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and demonstrated experience.

Strong and accurate writing, research, and editorial skills

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Thorough knowledge of current events, U.S. politics, geopolitics, foreign policy, and history

Strong news judgment

Ability to manage breaking news and respond quickly as stories develop

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment

Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the news cycle demands

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60,000.00-75,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
