Job Summary
The World History Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive history lessons that develop students' understanding of global civilizations, historical events, cultures, political systems, and their impact on the modern world.
The teacher fosters critical thinking, historical inquiry, research skills, and effective communication while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver World History lessons in accordance with the school curriculum and academic standards.
- Teach historical periods, civilizations, major world events, political movements, and cultural developments from ancient to modern times.
- Encourage students to analyze historical sources, evaluate evidence, and develop independent perspectives.
- Assess student progress through assignments, projects, presentations, examinations, and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behavior.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Integrate technology and interactive teaching methods to enhance student engagement.
- Promote historical awareness, global citizenship, and cross-cultural understanding.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership regarding student progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, school events, and extracurricular programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in History, World History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, State Teaching License, or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of world history, historical research methods, and curriculum standards.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning platforms
