Workshop Manager — Joinery Division

JCT Contracting LLC is a Dubai-based luxury villa fit-out and renovation contractor.

Our new Joinery Division produces high-end bespoke joinery and millwork for premium residential and commercial projects.

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to establish, run, and scale our in-house joinery production facility.

The Workshop Manager will take full operational ownership of the joinery workshop — overseeing production, quality, machinery, staff, and delivery scheduling.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can build a workshop operation from the ground up and drive it to consistently deliver premium-quality joinery on time and on budget.

Plan, schedule, and manage all workshop production to meet project deadlines and installation programmes

Translate shop drawings, cutting lists, and specifications into efficient production workflows

Coordinate with site teams, project managers, and the commercial function to align workshop output with project requirements

Optimise material usage, minimise wastage, and manage workshop inventory and consumables

Uphold premium quality standards across all joinery and millwork output, from carcass construction to final finishing

Implement and maintain quality control checks at each production stage

Ensure all work meets project specifications, tolerances, and client expectations

Oversee setup, operation, calibration, and preventive maintenance of all workshop machinery (panel saws, edgebanders, CNC, spray booths, etc.)

Manage tooling, machine safety, and equipment lifecycle

Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop environment

Recruit, train, supervise, and manage carpenters, machinists, finishers, and workshop labour

Allocate tasks, manage shift planning, and drive productivity and accountability

Mentor staff and build a skilled, cohesive workshop team

Enforce HSE standards and ensure full compliance with UAE workplace safety regulations

Conduct risk assessments and maintain safe working practices across the facility

Provide input on material take-offs, labour estimates, and production costs to support tendering and budgeting

Track production costs against budgets and report on workshop performance

Proven experience as a Workshop Manager / Production Manager in a joinery, millwork, or bespoke furniture environment

Strong technical knowledge of joinery production, materials (solid timber, veneers, laminates, MDF), finishes, and fixings

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical specifications

Hands-on experience operating and maintaining woodworking machinery, including CNC

Demonstrated team leadership and staff management experience

Strong organisational and production-planning skills

Commitment to quality, safety, and on-time delivery

Experience in the UAE / GCC market and with luxury residential fit-out projects

Experience setting up or scaling a new workshop facility

CNC programming knowledge

Trade qualification or relevant technical certification in carpentry/joinery
