Workshop Engineer

Role overview

Tasks

• Maintain and repair forklifts, heavy machinery and other material-handling equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs to support performance and safety.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections, diagnose and rectify faults, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Provide customer service and support.

Candidate requirements

• Comfort using IT equipment to keep accurate records and place orders; a full UK driving licence is required.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Vehicle technician or mechanical engineering experience is relevant; forklift, plant, powered-access, agricultural machinery, motor vehicle or industrial-cleaner experience is desirable.

Hours and overtime

• The stated working week is 40 hours, Monday to Friday; an earlier description mentions a 40- or 45-hour option.
• Overtime is available, with stated enhanced rates for some weekends and bank holidays.
