Key responsibilities
- Interpret woodwork designs, technical details, architectural drawings, and joinery shop drawings to determine material requirements.
- Calculate quantities and prepare or revise detailed BOMs for project items and complete projects.
- Estimate solid wood, MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, hardware, accessories, and related components.
- Account for sizes, thicknesses, cutting patterns, waste, and optimization in take-offs.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, and Procurement and update estimates when drawings or approved designs change.
- Verify BOMs against drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
- Compare estimated quantities with factory consumption and maintain estimation records.
- Use ERP manufacturing systems or equivalent for BOMs, material requirements, and consumption data.
Job requirements
- 7–10 years of woodwork estimation, quantity take-off, or BOM preparation in wood manufacturing or joinery factories.
- Strong knowledge of wood types, standard sizes, thicknesses, and furniture and joinery materials.
- Ability to interpret shop drawings, architectural drawings, and technical details.
- Experience with take-offs, detailed BOMs, material optimization, wood manufacturing, cutting, waste, and production requirements.
- Experience with ERP manufacturing modules or equivalent for BOM management, material planning, and consumption.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and relevant estimation or take-off software.
- Accuracy, analytical skills, attention to detail, coordination, and communication.

- Woodwork and joinery estimation, material quantity take-offs, and BOM preparation.
- Shop drawing interpretation and architectural drawing analysis.
- Wood and material specifications, including MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, and hardware.
- Cutting optimization, waste reduction, ERP manufacturing modules, material requirements planning, and consumption analysis.
- AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, quantity verification, and revision control.
