Wet Utilities Inspector

Role overview

Inspection and coordination

• Inspect water, drainage, and sewerage installations, including alignment, levels, and gradients.
• Verify compliance with approved designs, specifications, and relevant standards and codes.
• Monitor materials and workmanship and inspect trenching, excavation, bedding, backfilling, and reinstatement.
• Witness pressure, leakage, and flow testing and support commissioning readiness.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, utility stakeholders, engineers, and project management to resolve issues and discrepancies.
• Maintain inspection records and reports and support design and interface coordination.

Site safety and environment

• Ensure safe and environmentally compliant site practices, including appropriate waste disposal and stormwater controls.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in wet utilities inspection.
• Strong knowledge of water, drainage, and sewerage systems and applicable ASTM, BS, ISO, or local standards.
• Ability to interpret utility drawings, specifications, and ITP requirements.
• Strong reporting and communication skills, HSE awareness, and site coordination capability.
