What You’ll Do

• Perform MIG/GMAW, flux-core/FCAW, and stick/SMAW welding. Weld carbon steel and stainless steel in both in-position and out-of-position applications. Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and fitter layouts. Set up components and equipment for welding. Adjust amperage, current, and gas flow based on the material and welding process. Perform oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting. Prep parts, drill holes, deburr material, and operate equipment such as plate shears and Ironworkers. Follow quality standards and safe work practices. What You’ll Need High school diploma or GED. 1+ years of welding experience. Experience with MIG, flux-core, stick, pulse arc, stitch pattern, and tack welding. Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret prints. Ability to accurately use a tape measure. Basic shop math skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry. Knowledge of personal protective equipment and safe manufacturing practices. Preferred Welding classes, certification, or trade school training. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, crouch, walk, climb, and balance. Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work at heights using ladders or manlifts. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around moving equipment, fumes, airborne particles, forklifts, electricity, and moderate noise.
