Role description
Design, develop, maintain, and optimize websites and web-based applications for reliable performance, responsive functionality, and a positive user experience.
Work with designers, software developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring functionality, usability, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain website interfaces and implement front-end and back-end functionality.
- Integrate APIs, manage databases, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Optimize website performance, ensure cross-browser compatibility, and improve mobile responsiveness.
- Maintain clean, reusable, well-structured code; test website features and identify and resolve bugs.
- Implement security best practices and support website updates and deployments.
- Collaborate to define technical requirements, evaluate development approaches, improve existing systems, and meet business and user needs.
- Maintain technical documentation, monitor application performance, manage version control, and contribute to continuous improvements in web development standards and digital solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of web development principles, website architecture, and application development practices.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Knowledge of back-end technologies such as Node.js, PHP, Python, Java, or equivalent programming environments.
- Understanding of database systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, web service communication, and version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, performance optimization, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Knowledge of website security principles, debugging techniques, and software testing practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; attention to detail.
- Proactive mindset and interest in emerging web technologies, scalable application development, and continuous technical improvement.
