Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the safety, security and control of a property by monitoring activity, preventing unauthorized access, and reporting incidents.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Patrol the building or site regularly
- Watch CCTV cameras and alarm systems
- Detect and report suspicious activity
- Respond quickly to emergencies or disturbances
- Check and verify visitors, staff and vehicles
- Allow entry only to authorized persons
- Maintain entry/exit logs and visitor registers
- Write daily activity logs
- Record incidents, thefts, or safety issues
- Inform management or supervisors about problems
- Handle fire alarms, accidents, or security threats
- Assist in evacuation if needed
- Contact police or emergency services when required
- Lock/unlock doors and facilities
- Check lights and safety equipment
- Sometimes do minor cleaning or simple repairs
